Easter’s on the way. While some egg hunts may look a little different in 2021, one thing that won’t change is the influx of candy. Except for Halloween and maybe Valentine’s Day, no holiday demands the consumption of candy and chocolate than Easter does. Itβs an annual commemoration of everything that is egg-shaped and pastel-colored. (In fact, we believe Easter may be the only appropriate time for pastels in general. Check local legislation.)
Whether youβre going ahead with the traditional egg hunt or just filling up baskets and handing them out like army uniforms, youβre going to need lots of supplies. Weβve looked around the internet for this mix of 10 traditional candy favorites and tasty, natural alternatives that are all surefire crowd-pleasers. Fill βem up.

Get It Twisted | SweeTARTS Ropes Twisted Spring Punch Easter Candy
If youβve never tried these mashup treats, youβre missing out. Theyβre sweet licorice ropes filled with that one-of-a-kind, classic, chalky SweeTARTs flavor. These Ropes are special candies made just for Easter. Someone in the flavor lab went a little nuts and twisted the licorice in a combination of several fruity colors. If your Easter basket strategy is dangling by a thread, tie it up with these delicacies.

The Marshmallow of Tomorrow | SMASHMALLOW Cookie Dough 3-Pack
If youβre looking for an alternative to those jet-puffed, oversized pencil erasers passing as marshmallows, enter the SMASHMALLOW. This package contains 3 packs of cookie dough-flavored, all-natural, non-GMO marshmallows. Should cookie dough not be your thing, SMASHMALLOW treats also come in mint chip, cinnamon churro, toasted vanilla, and more unusual flavors. Best of all, theyβre all made from organic cane sugar and are gluten-free. At only 25 calories per serving, you could spend all Easter on a marshmallow cloud.

Put All These Eggs in Several Baskets | Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Eggs
The world shifted on its axis when a shipping foreman for the Hershey Company came up with blending milk chocolate with peanut butter. Reeseβs Peanut Butter Cups are now the top-selling candy brand in the USA. Although the puck shape of the original will always be our first choice for year-round gorging, the Reeseβs Peanut Butter Cup Eggs have long been an egg hunt staple. This 38-ounce bag will ensure every basket will get a couple.

Unfurl the Swirl | Rainbow Unicorn Candy Swirl Pops
When you throw rainbows and unicorns together, youβre practically inviting magic to waltz into your life. Resistance is futile. Rainbow Unicorn candy is almost ridiculously festive. Itβs tailor-made to turn an Easter gift basket from a forlorn box of negative space into a mΓ©lange of pure joy. Any kind of Rainbow Unicorn treat will do the trick, but we suggest the Swirl Pops. Theyβre colorful, magical, and nearly hypnotic.

Donβt Settle for Imitations | M&M/Mars Egg Hunt Assortment
M&M/Mars is the kind of company with whom we would entrust our lives. They make the iconic products that powered our childhoods and still do today: Snickers, M&M’s, 3 Musketeers, Twix, and Starburst, among others. Having an egg hunt without something from M&M/Mars is like serving gumbo without okra: technically allowed, but confusing. Stock up on your favorites with this assortment of the above-mentioned chocolate staples.

Heeeey, Macaron | Macaron Gift Box
Macarons are having a moment. People are flipping out for these almond-flour cookies that sandwich a creamy or jam-like filling. This 24-unit box from Macaron Bites in New York is an excellent way to sample macarons if you havenβt yet done so. They come in enough flavors and colors to fill a rainbow, which weβve already established is a shortcut to magic. If youβre seeking a break from Easter baskets past, toss some macarons in the mix.

Good Eggs | Russell Stover Marshmallow Egg Crate
Russell Stover is one of our favorite candy companies thatβs just outside the mainstream. Theyβre celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2023. They make some very satisfying confections, including their annual Easter treats of marshmallow-filled milk chocolate. This Russel Stover gift package includes 3 βegg cratesβ for a grand total of 36 delectable, gooey, individually wrapped additions to your holiday baskets. Easter isnβt over βtil youβve had some Stover.

Nature Wins Again | Organic Easter Food Gift Basket
Thereβs no escaping the sugar rush thatβs about to erupt on Easter afternoon. But this basket may be a welcome alternative to the corn syrup flood. It contains a great variety of natural Easter treats that will satisfy kids and make parents feel a tad less guilty. They include chocolate truffles, gummies, jellybeans, cookies, and even an organic, less moody milk chocolate Easter bunny. This basket also comes with some items crucial to the complete Easter experience, including plastic eggs, a dyeing kit, and a coloring book.

Fresh Squeezed | Welch’s Fruit Snack Easter Basket Eggs
Easter doesnβt have to be all chocolate and marshmallows. You can always shake up your basket game by throwing in some fruit-based treats. And Welchβs, if anything, are Monsters of Fruit. Theyβve produced this massive collection of 6 individual Easter eggs, each one containing 6 packages of Welch’s Fruit Snacks. These gel-snacks are entirely satisfying since they’re made with actual fruit instead of a chemical you can’t pronounce. They’re also a great, gluten-free source of Vitamins A, C, and E, which weβre sure kids are extremely concerned about on Easter.

Coming Home to Roost | Peeps Variety Pack
Come on β you didnβt think we were going to talk about Easter candy without mentioning Peeps, did you? The surprisingly controversial marshmallow Easter classics are the elephant in the room. Or, rather, the chicken in the room. If an Easter basket doesnβt contain at least one of these colorful marshmallow chicks, itβs probably going to get reported. Stave off that possibility with this variety pack of 30 individual treats. It contains enough marshmallow chickens to start an invasion. A Peeps stampede. A Peeps infestation, the likes of which we’ve never seen and will likely never see again. At least not until next Easter.
