Basilico offers true Italian food and wine as presented by first generation Italians. Located in downtown Olympia, Basilico is an upscale destination, where everything is truly made from scratch, ensuring a high level of freshness and quality. The menu features a large selection of fresh hand-made and hand-cut pastas, all produced according to the old Italian tradition and with the use of specially-milled flour imported from Italy. Diners can watch at the Pasta Station as the pasta is being made right before their eyes. The menu offers guests a welcome array of appetizers, pastas, and entrees, ranging from lasagna bolonese and… rabbit cacciatora to halibut all' umido and a wrapped filet mignon with mushrooms. Amongst all of the pasta dishes served since the restaurant opened, the most popular has proved to be pappardelle al cinghiale, which is a fresh wide cut egg pasta that is tossed with our Italian imported wild boar infused with a fresh mix of herbs in a delicate tomato sauce. An excellent wine list and other cocktail options are perfect compliments to every one of the dishes. The atmosphere retains an intimate feel amongst the trappings of an upscale destination with its dark wood and creamy walls adorned with framed art.
