{"id":117,"date":"2016-12-27T11:15:40","date_gmt":"2016-12-27T19:15:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.price.com\/?p=117"},"modified":"2021-06-19T00:38:47","modified_gmt":"2021-06-19T00:38:47","slug":"announcing-our-2m-seed-round","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/price.com\/blog\/announcing-our-2m-seed-round\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing the new Price.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today, I\u2019m very excited to announce the new Price.com. &nbsp;<\/span>This announcement is especially meaningful for me as I started Price to simply solve a problem that I encountered through my own experience as a consumer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Earlier this year, I was shopping for a new seating solution for my home. &nbsp;I ended up finding the perfect, black leather sofa for $2,000 and purchased it. &nbsp;Shortly after that, however, I saw the exact same piece for only $1,200 at a different retailer. &nbsp;I felt ripped off, frustrated and annoyed by this experience. &nbsp;I realized that I could have saved a lot of money if only I had known about all of my purchasing options in advance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Interestingly, I immediately recognized many parallels between my dissatisfying shopping experience and the problems we focused on with my last company that I co-founded, Appurify, which solved fragmentation issues for mobile developers across devices. Appurify was acquired by Google in 2014, and is now powering Google Test Labs. &nbsp;After my shopping disappointment, I realized that the online shopping industry also has many fragmentation issues for consumers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">And from that, Price was born with an initial goal to increase transparency and purchasing confidence by displaying all purchasing options to consumers. &nbsp;Since then, the Price products have evolved beyond what I originally conceived: to become the one-stop shop for finding savings and discovering deals, seamlessly, before a consumer makes a purchase of any type.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019ve assembled an amazing team of engineers, machine learning experts, designers, product specialists and advisors. &nbsp;And, with today\u2019s announcement, The Price Team is excited to bring you a revolutionary shopping experience, starting in early 2017.
